When did freedom of speech become freedom to terrorize?

Why is there so much hate in the world. I find the ugliest hate comes from the places that should be bringing the best of who we are as a people to the world. For some reason religious zealots or extremist feel that they must, as directed by God, shine a light on the person or groups of people that they find offensive or living a life of sinful choice and make them change or in some cases die.

After I saw the story of the family of Fred Phelps protesting the funeral of a fallen solder, making statements that it is because of gay people that solders have to die that I became aware how dangerous these people really are. Having had the Phelps family picket outside my church once, I know how hurtful they can be.

CNN's Anderson Cooper interviewed Michigan's assistant attorney general Andrew Shirvell over his web attacks on a gay student. This guy felt that it was his job to protect the school from a gay man pushing his agenda on the school population.

Recently during the run up to the mid term elections one politicians position was that gays should not be allowed to be school teachers. Where is this coming from. Do they think that Gays are going to molest there kids because they choose same sex partners? Or that they are going to try to bring more gays over to their side as some sort of clandestine movement to take over the south?

All men are created equal.

It didn't say all men are created equal unless they are gay.  As a christian I am embarrassed to be associated with these groups. We are to love our neighbor. Not to judge. God will do the judgement. It is not our job.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD.

Can't believe he said that...

Last week, someone I have known for twenty years made several comments that were way out in left field. But he spoke with such authority, how could he be wrong. How could he be lying. So I fact checked what he said. I was shocked and hurt. I had admired him. He was someone that had stood up against the system and won. But now he was resorting to half truths and pure lies to make his point. Anyone that has to lie to win their argument has lost and has lost me as a friend for good. If your case is good enough, then you can win on it's own merits you do not need to pad it with lies.
